About Hungry River Kennels
Hungry River Kennels specializes in procuring German Shorthair Pointers for detection tracking, and evidence recovery.
My name is Jeremy Riley, and I am the Lead Dual Purpose Trainer and Owner at Hungry River Kennels. I bring 30 years of experience in canine handling and training, shaped by both military and law enforcement service.
I began my career in the United States Army, where I served for five years as a Military Working Dog Handler. During that time, I worked with two dual purpose military working dogs, achieved the rank of Specialist, and deployed and stationed over seas. I received several medals, accommodations, and also obtained the DOD Top Patrol Dog Award in 2000.
After my military service, I spent 11 years with the Henderson County Sheriff's Office in North Carolina as a police canine handler. There, I worked three dual purpose and one single purpose police service dog, and also served as the agency's unit trainer.
For the past 11 years, I also held the position of Senior Lead Trainer at one of the nation's largest and most respected dog training facilities. There I helped develop and deliver thousands of some of the strongest and most reliable K-9 teams in the country, working with departments and agencies nationwide.
I made the decision to move back home to Western North Carolina, where I was born and raised. Here, I founded Hungry River Kennels- a place where I can continue my passion for training high-performing, dependable working dogs, while giving back to community that shaped me.
